About The Book

Jesus initially spoke the words of the Lord's Prayer in Aramaic, His mother tongue, before they were later recorded in Greek. In this book, the reader is invited to “hear” those sacred words as Jesus Himself first spoke them. The authors thoughtfully blend devotional reflection with scholarly insight, drawing from the Syriac Aramaic text (Peshitta), the New Testament Greek, and the Modern Hebrew translation. The goal is to guide the reader toward a deeper understanding of the original, intended meaning behind each phrase in Matthew 6:9-13. By exploring the linguistic and theological richness of the prayer across these ancient languages, the book seeks to illuminate the heart with Jesus' teaching and to help readers live out its profound truths with clarity, reverence, and purpose.

About The Authors

Charles Owiredu is a theologian and anthropologist. He holds a PhD from the University of Durham, England. His field of specialisation is Biblical and Ancient Languages, including Greek, Hebrew, Aramaic, Ugaritic, and Middle Egyptian (Hieroglyphics). Owiredu teaches biblical studies, History of Revivals, and Africana Studies at Daniel Institute, Central University.

Clement Adjei-Brown is a physicist and theologian. He holds a PhD from the South African Theological Seminary. His fields of specialisation are Biblical interpretation and New Testament Textual Criticism. Adjei-Brown teaches Greek, Hermeneutics, and Systemic Theology at Daniel Institute, Central University.
